Shelter Sibillini mountains

The Alpini refuge, run by Gino and Barbara, has moved from its historic location in Forca di Presta, at the foot of Mount Vettore, to Pretare, the Arquatan hamlet closest to high-altitude excursions in the Sibillini Mountains. Gino and Barbara were able to reproduce the atmosphere and warmth of the mountain hut, made up of the traditional food of porcini mushrooms, truffles and excellent meat, as well as the advice and stories of Gino Quattrociocchi, a mountain guide and expert connoisseur of the many trails to be discovered in the Sibillini Mountains. Among the goodies in Barbara’s kitchen are chickpea and chestnut soup, pretaroli ravioli, Sibillini pasta, and the ever-present mixed grill of local meat.
